KISMET blog tours

Hey booknerds! Today's our stop on the Demanding Ransom blog tour, and Megan Squires has a special treat just for you: the official playlist for Demanding Ransom

While I don’t write to music, I definitely have lyrics playing in the back of my head during certain scenes in each of my books. Here’s a playlist of some of the ones that remind me most of Demanding Ransom

Mirrors—Justin Timberlake
Love Somebody—Maroon 5
Gone, Gone, Gone—Phillip Phillips
The Way it Used to Be—Mike Posner
Just Give Me a Reason—Pink, Nate Ruess
In Love with a Girl—Gavin DeGraw
Lego House—Ed Sheeran
Overdose—Little Daylight
Stubborn Love—The Lumineers

I had the opportunity to read the book a few days ago and these songs complement the story perfectly- I really wish that I listened to the playlist while reading it.

Sometimes life takes things away from you.

In nineteen-year-old Maggie Carson’s case, it’s taken more than its fair share.

Determined to move forward, Maggie embarks on her first year of college, hoping to finally put her past behind her, exactly where it belongs.
But that’s hard to do when the present is just as difficult. And even harder when someone like Ran, the gorgeous paramedic that keeps crossing Maggie’s path, challenges her to face things head on, rather than bury them like she always does.

Ran hasn’t had a perfect life either. But there’s something different about him, and something different about the way he makes Maggie feel. Maybe meeting Ran is life’s little gift for Maggie—a sort of consolation prize for enduring everything she's had to go through.

But things don’t come easy for Maggie. Why should love be the exception? And just when everything starts to settle, it’s all turned on its head once again.

If there is one thing Ran has taught Maggie, it’s that you can’t sit on the sidelines of your own existence. When life takes something that’s yours, you have every right to demand it back.

Only for Maggie, that is easier said than done.

  1. Oh I've got this book! :) I won some random giveaway on facebook and I'm really curious about it. Also Jenny never gave me this guy's number - shame on her! :D Needless to say I like Just Give Me a Reason :) Great post Ellie :)

  2. Ah The Lumineers! They are the best!
I've seen this book around and interests me. Plus, I'm a fan of NA so I can tell I'll enjoy it!
    Thanks for sharing, Ellie! :)

  3. Oh my gosh. Just Give Me A Reason is on that playlist. IT'S ON THAT PLAYLIST. That makes me infinitely more interested in this book now! ;) The only other song I've heard about is Mirrors by Justin Timberlake. This book sounds like a nice read, though a little cliché in the way New Adults are. I love her shirt, though!

  4. I love the plot already! And that playlist! <3
